Hong Kong Star Restaurant in Plainfield

We are from RI where they have many really good restaurants. We were struggling with finding good food when we moved to CT and once we tried this one we knew we had a keeper. Their prices are reasonable, and the food is EXCELLENT! And we love to be able to support a locally owned business.

Nice restaurant

I am VERY satisfied with the quality of the meal and large portion sizes. Big menu. Full bar. Quick and kind service. The Singapore mi fun is fantastic.

Good Chinese food.

Food was good. Atmosphere was quiet. Not many people dining in. Certainly more of a take out kind of place. Staff was courteous. Ample parking, though this place is easy to miss located on the end of the storefronts. I'll be adding this place to my rotation of restaurants with my coworkers. Also the lunch specials priced under $7 per plate are an awesome value. That alone will definitely bring me back.

In my opinion the best Chinese restaurant in Plainfield to be sure. The vegetables used in their dishes are fresh and have a nice firmness to them. Not raw mind you but not overcooked and limp. The dishes aren't salty, swimming in grease and have delicate, cloying sauces. Not the heavy, thick corn starch base that you find in some many other places. I've been coming here since this place opened eons ago. At that time it was under different management and in a short time the quality of the food declined. The present owners have been here for at least 4 years or so and I can't think of one time where I had what I consider a bad meal. I'm not sure why there are others here who say they had an unfortunately experience because I never did. Five stars and the service is outstanding!

Good food, fast and friendly service.

You have to watch your credit card, was charged twice for the same meal. When called about it, I had to drive back to the restaurant to get it corrected which was quite irritating. Should have never been charged twice to begin with.

Fresh food served with cleanliness.

I like to go with friends to this place with my warmest recommendations. I go to this restaurant often. This recommendation is always successful. The the food there is tasty and the crew is attentive and cooperative. Every time we go to this place we enjoy a lovely evening. I warmly recommend this restaurant.

They messed up multiple things on my order and over cooked my food, would recommend another place.

I come here for lunch or dinner every so often. Very good and reasonably priced lunch specials. Dinner is also excellent!

Pleasant surprise, tried to find a different place for lunch while on business. We had a party of nine , service was good , food and portions good as well. We will visit again..

Ordered from this place 4 times. Once, they gave my order to a customer with the same first name. Order not even close. On 2 separate occasions, items were missing and wrong side dish. I ordered Chicken Chow Mein and got an order of rice with cabbage or lettuce ore something. Not a single noodle. Spoke with American girl at restaurant. Didn’t seem to care one bit. Food tastes OK if you get what you actually order. Never again and I will be sure to spread the word. Terribly frustrating.

I've always gone here, not only me, but anytime were hungry, and just dont wanna make dinner, this is our first choice! The food is outstanding, n is always the same. So I know what I'm getting. Year after year, it's the same amazing quality, and the quantity is amazing as well!!! I cant wait to be able to dine in once they've opened for inside customers again!

If your on vacation and looking for some really good Chinese food and you come upon this place slowly consider going somewhere else. This is not comparable to your favorite Chinese restaurant and I’m sure it will not live up to your expectations. It was fair at best!

Food was not good at all. The staff on the phone was nice which is why I gave 2 stars . The food was not real Chinese food though. It was something else.

At the first moment you enter that restaurant the waiters give you a good feeling. Very warm hosts, it is a good restaurant to hang out with your friends or with your date. yummy meals, specialist chef de cuisine, honest price and courteous service. Warmly recommended.

Love this place..... We ALWAYS get what we ordered, the food is good, the place is CLEAN. Not sure why people prefer to take out but service is excellent.If you had a bad experience here, it was just a bad day for all. Im sorry for you bc I cant see them getting it wrong everytime. I found the food to be extremely greasy. The waiter was pleasant.

Ok but messed up my order and when I called they did nothing. I'd ordered plenty of times for my family but we had 2 bad incidents. Both times the pork fried rice tasted old. The other food was ok but that fried rice could've been mafe fresh. Will never go back again for something so simple.

Wife likes this place , so I do too. We decided to eat there today and we enjoyed it the fast and friendly service.

The place is clean and staff is friendly but the food tastes horrible. They also have messed up our order. We tried it a few times but we aren't going back.

Best Chinese restaurant in the area, hands down. I eat there at least once a week.
